Charitable Crafters began back in August of 2001 when brainytrading.net.in/download-iq-option-app I realized the need in our community. A warm coat, sweater, snow pants, hat, scarf, and mittens can be difficult for people to purchase even if they aren't on a limited income.  We started by donating items to the Kid's Closet through the Duluth public school system. We quickly branched out to supplying warm handmade outerwear for all ages and then we began supplying area hospitals with chemo caps and nursing homes with walker bags. My aim is to have crafters create items that they enjoy making while producing something that the community can use.

Some of our crafters enjoy making http://brainytrading.net.in/download-iq-option-app only mittens while others come up with something new every few months. From handmade toys to chemo caps, baby blankets to winter hats, everyone involved can benefit from the simple act of giving.

We schedule informal meetings at Yarn Harbor every other Sunday at noon. You can always check the Organizational Information page for dates.

Fabric Works in Superior, WI is now host to a Charitable Crafter donation bin.  All donations that are collected in Superior will https://brainytrading.net.in/download-iq-option-app stay in Superior.  Chemo Caps and Preemie hats will be brought to Duluth as the hospital in Superior cannot take these patients.

Wal-Mart in Hermantown also has a Charitable Crafter donation bin in their fabric/craft    department as does Sister's Scrapbooking in Cloquet.

There's a new store in downtown Duluth set to open on October 1st called Tinderbox. It's located at 22 N 2nd Ave E across the avenue from Fon du Luth Casino. It's a store that will carry the creations of area artists with an emphasis on outsider and indie art. You can drop your stockings and stocking stuffers off there until the first weekend in November.

Other Charitable Crafter donation bins are also open to dropping off your stockings and stocking stuffers.

"This is what you shall do: Love the earth and sun and animals, despise riches, give alms to every one that asks, stand up for the stupid and crazy, devote your income and labor to others, hate tyrants, argue not concerning God, have patience and indulgence toward the people...and your very flesh shall be a great poem."-Walt Whitman

“The nearest thing to the hand of God in this life is the hand of someone who loves you. It is the new mother’s hand brushing gently along the back of her nursing newborn. It’s the father’s hand that lifts a tiny child high enough above the crowd to see the passing parade. It’s the first time you held hands with someone who thought you were handsome, or pretty, who hoped for a good night kiss. It’s the hand of a grandmother soothing her husband’s fevered brow. It’s your hands; reaching toward my children, when I can no longer lift my own hands to serve them."
