Homemade Soap
One of my latest fixations is making homemade
soap. While this is totally outside the realm of fiberarts, it is quite fun!
Making melt and pour soap is a great activity to do with kids but if you are
making your soap from scratch with lye, it's better to do it with the kids in
the other room...
So, you might be asking, what does this have to
do with charity crafting? Well, one of the things that several social service
organizations in our area say that they can use is soap! Keep that in mind when
you get addicted to this hobby and if you're also a knitter, consider making the
"felted ditty bag" and putting some of your handmade soap in it for your local
battered women's shelter.
